Privacy policy

The short version. Symbol Run has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We run no server for the game and we don't receive data about how you play.

Who we are

Symbol Run is made by Snojken AB, a Swedish company (org. no. 556834-4641), Björkglänteväg 32, 439 37 Onsala, Sweden. Snojken AB is the controller for the personal data described here.

On your iPhone and in your iCloud

Your progress and best scores are saved on your iPhone and, if iCloud is on, synced through your own iCloud account so that they follow you to your other devices. We cannot see this data. Deleting the app removes the copy on the phone; the iCloud copy is managed in your Apple Account's iCloud settings.

Services provided by Apple

• Game Center: if you are signed in, your scores are sent to Apple's Game Center leaderboards and shown to other players under your Game Center name.
• The App Store: AR mode is bought through Apple. We receive no payment details, only Apple's confirmation that it is unlocked.
• iCloud: stores your progress, as described above.

Apple handles this data under Apple's privacy policy.

Camera and motion

AR mode uses the camera to place the board on a surface around you. The picture is processed on the phone and is never recorded or sent anywhere.

When you start the symbol run (the walk that earns extra moves), the game reads today's step count from Motion & Fitness on the phone and then counts your steps while the walk runs. The step counts never leave the phone.

You can turn either permission off at any time in Settings.

When you email us

If you email support@symbolrun.com, we use your address and your message only to answer you, and delete them when the matter is settled, at the latest after 12 months.

This website

symbolrun.com sets no cookies, has no analytics and loads nothing from other sites. It is hosted by GitHub Pages; GitHub records visitors' IP addresses in its server logs for security (see GitHub's privacy statement).

Children

Symbol Run is suitable for all ages. Because the game collects no personal data, children can play without sharing any information with us.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. In practice the only data we may hold is a support email. Contact us at support@symbolrun.com.

You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY.

Changes

If this policy changes, we publish the new version here with a new date.
